About Noticing the Now

L Greggery headshot.jpeg

Hello. I'm Lindel Greggery.

I founded Noticing the Now to help ease the suffering of others and build resilience and wellbeing through training the attention, awareness, wisdom and compassion that comes from mindfulness.

In teaching this important life skill for the past 11 years, I've worked in a range of corporate, government, healthcare and private settings. Over that time I've been privileged to share mind training with organisational leaders and teams, university students, healthcare professionals, cancer patients, carers, chronic pain sufferers, and individuals looking to dial down stress and cultivate greater wellbeing and resilience.

Having a partner who suffers from chronic pain, as well as teaching mindfulness to clients, carers and staff at Bloomhill Cancer Care, has fuelled my interest in learning more about how persistent pain is created and what can be done to ease the physical and emotional suffering that ensues.

My mindfulness qualifications include:

  • Registered Meditation Teacher with the Meditation Association of Australia

  • Accredited Corporate Mindfulness Trainer, Potential Project International

  • Advanced training in the mindfulness-based behaviour therapy, ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) with Dr Russ Harris

  • Mindfulness Based Pain Relief Program practitioner, Integrative Pain Science Institute

  • Guided Intuitive Meditation facilitator, Jack Kornfield.

I'm also extremely grateful to leading pain science experts the Neuro Orthopaedic Institute Australasia (NOIgroup) for providing invaluable resources and training on explaining and managing chronic pain.

As well as having a daily mindfulness practice for the past 15+ years, I'm committed to ongoing learning through retreats, workshops and webinars with world-leading mindfulness teachers. In 2025 I joined the committee of Sakyadhita Australia and enjoy working alongside nuns and laypeople to advocate for greater equity for women across all Buddhist traditions.

Hand in hand with the mindfulness path, I’ve enjoyed a long career in communications, as a Journalist, Editor and Public Relations Consultant — skills that help me to connect and get to the heart of the message when I'm facilitating training and developing supporting resources.

Our mind creates our reality.

While we can't control what happens to us, we can control how we respond to it.

Why mindfulness?

Mindfulness means consciously brining awareness to your here and now experience, with openness, receptiveness and interest.

By observing thoughts and feelings, rather than getting caught up in them or over-identifying with them, we can more skilfully manage discomfort, cultivate helpful mind states and emotions, and take action on doing what is important to us in life.

More than 16,500 studies into mindfulness have been published, reporting substantial benefits across mental, emotional, cognitive, interpersonal, and physical health domains.

These include reduced stress, anxiety and depression, and improved wellbeing and quality of life.

In terms of pain management, mindfulness-based interventions have been effective in reducing chronic pain intensity, improving sleep quality, enhancing immune function and lowering blood pressure.
